IBR of a mobile homes dealer: Preparing, validating and implementing restructuring plans

One of the largest dealers of mobile homes in the Netherlands was facing a serious drop in sales since 2002. The total market for new mobile homes had shown a decline of 75% since that particular year. The company had difficulties to keep up with the decreasing turnover and operational margins. Fixed costs (mainly housing and showroom costs) still remained at a high level. Beaufort performed an Independent Business Review in which several scenarios were presented. This resulted in a restructuring plan in which several measures (layoff of personnel, cost cutting, reduction of housing expenses) were drawn up. After agreement on the plan with the stakeholders, Beaufort assisted in the implementation of the restructuring plan.
