Beaufort Transformations and transactions has a complete new look, including a new payoff: Perfection made Personal. What does that mean in daily practice? Reason to ask the Beaufort consultants how they make it ‘Personal’. This week: John Dekker.
“Every company has its own specific environment and dynamics, so the root causes of the challenges call for tailor-made solutions.” – John Dekker, consultant.
Perfection made Personal, what do you think that means?
John: “Our clients often face challenges that require immediate solutions. Every company has its own specific environment and dynamics, so the root causes of the challenges call for tailor-made solutions.
I am often asked if we use or want to use standard models. To some extent that works, financially everything has to be correct and aligned. However, this is not limited to finance. The financial picture is the outcome of everything that happens in the company before that. After all, it is ultimately about the operational processes, how the company is managed and the people who do it.”
And John: how do you make it Personal?
“My personal challenge lies in finding out for each client where their issues lie and finding the solutions for them. By carrying out, often in-depth, analysis of the figures and combining this with my experience of how organisations and processes run, I try to help the client move forward despite the hectic pace of everyday business.
Often things seem difficult or impossible, but by engaging in dialogue with the company, it usually turns out that more can be done than thought. Insights can be broadened, problems can be made smaller and solutions can be broken down into tangible chunks. In other words, the company is immediately able to make improvements.”
